DSWA believes in educating both children and adults about waste management issues. We all make trash. Learning how to
make less and safely manage the rest will help us become responsible citizens.
One of the most public ways DSWA reaches Delaware school
children is through its Earth Day Festival. Children can come learn about various environmental issues, often with
hands-on demonstrations.
DSWA Literature

Facility Tours
Tours of DSWA landfills and other facilities are available to the
public or school groups. Please contact our Public Information Group at 1-800-404-7080 for more information. Trash Can Dan
A character created by DSWA to help spread the word about waste management. "Trash Can Dan" can be seen at special
events like the DSWA's Earth Day Festival and Delaware State Fair. Resources for Teachers
DSWA has developed many educational materials to teach children about solid waste management.
