DSWA Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Goods Collection Event Being Held on August 2, 2008

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event this Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Elsmere Town Hall located at 11 Poplar Avenue. Household Hazardous Waste can include items such as household cleaners, garden pesticides, oil-based paints, nail polish, prescription medications, fluorescent bulbs, or antifreeze.

Governor Minner Appoints New Member to DSWA Board of Directors
The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) and our Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gerard (Jerry) L. Esposito to our Board of Directors. He replaces Ms. Stephanie L. Hansen, whose term had expired. Mr. Esposito comes to the DSWA as the current President of Tidewater Utilities.

Come see DSWA at the Delaware State Fair!
The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) is excited to participate once again at the Delaware State Fair, which is being held July 17-July 26 in Harrington, Delaware. Come see DSWA in the Exhibit Hall located near the Grandstand. At the exhibit residents can receive information on DSWA facilities and recycling programs. Also be, sure to look for Trash Can Dan on Healthy Kids Day, Tuesday, July 22 and Governors Day, Thursday, July 24. Hope to see you there!

DSWA asked to remove Recycling Drop-Off Center in Kent County
The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) has been asked to remove the Recycling Drop-off Center at the Sheraton Hotel in the City of Dover located in Kent County. At the request of the site sponsors, the center will be removed July 18.
